With this fun guide, you’ll breeze through adding items, creating tags and labels, and ensuring everything scans smoothly at the register – because selling should be as fun as finding that perfect item!

THE IMPORTANT STUFF

Check out this must-watch video packed with tips and tricks on preparing your items to sell like hotcakes!

PLEASE review the WHAT WE SELL page prior to each season.

Preparing Your Items

There is a $2.00 price minimum price. If an item’s resale is less than $2.00, please donate that item. Combine/group books and toys as needed to meet the $2.00 minimum. Donate the lower brands like Walmart and Kmart basics. Unique or specialty items from Walmart are accepted.

***NEW for FALL 2024*** Only group outfits that make sense. Ex: 2 non-similar shirts.

Make sure shoppers and cashiers can read your barcodes and your items stay secured in bags or on the hanger!

Recommended Supplies

  • Card stock or printer paper

  • Address labels (30 to a page)

  • Sharpie pen Ink pen

  • Various-size Zip-lock bags

  • Hangers- any kind. Do not use baby hangers on sizes over 2T

  • Safety pins

  • Twine or zip ties for shoes

  • Clear Packaging tape

  • Blue Painter Tape for Books, Puzzles, etc.

  • We can provide supplies at our cost: 50 Hangers $5.00, 100 Pins $3.00. You may purchase multiple sets of both/either. Text 540-525-1446.

LOOSE ITEMS:

  • Items must be clean and in working order. Sellers will be assessed a $20 fee for each item returned for missing pieces or for not working.

  • Attach tags with painter's tape or use address labels.

  • Small parts must be bagged/taped closed and attached securely.

  • Small toys may be grouped into Ziploc bags secured with clear packing tape. It is also good to write your consignor number and price on the Ziploc bag with a Sharpie in case the tag comes off.

HANGING ITEMS:

  • Tags are placed on the upper right side of the clothing and pinned to withstand light tugging.

  • Hangers should look like a "?"

  • Hang bottoms from the top of the hanger. Move pins closer to the top of the hanger for

larger sizes. Pant hangers are allowed, too.

  • TOPS, DRESSES, & JACKETS- the hanger goes INSIDE the garment. Larger shirts should

be secured by looping the hanger through the item tag or with clothes pins.

  • TWO-PIECE OUTFITS. Hang the first and pin the second to the back. Be sure to catch the hanger.

SHOES:

  • Shoes should be LIKE NEW and sell better when tied together using string or zip ties.

  • Remember, washing goes a long way! Please write the SHOE SIZE on the label/tag and place your bar code inside the shoe. If you use tags (and not address labels) simply cut the bar code off the tag, write the shoe size, and tape that to the inside of the shoe.

  • Ziploc bags are okay for infant sizes but not good for larger sizes.

GAMES and PUZZLES:

  • Games and boxed puzzles should have all the pieces and be taped closed.

  • Use a standard descriptive tag and secure it with painter's tape or use the address labels printing option.

  • Place puzzle pieces into ziplock bags and tape the bag to the back of the puzzle.

  • Another option is to wrap the completed puzzle in Saran wrap, then secure with tape.

Drop-Off Your Items

All D-I-Y Sellers need a drop-off time to bring items to the sale. These times are accessed from the Seller Home Page.

We offer 2 Drop-Off Options:

Drop & Go- Limited to only 40 sellers! So act FAST!

This service is FREE for consignors who bring three extra large items such as a baby swing, bikes, slides, high chairs, etc. (Any baby gear or toy that will not fit in our blue IKEA bag qualifies as an extra large item)

$5.00 Cash at drop-off for charity for sellers with less than 3 x-large items!

  • All hanging items must be rubber banded by size and gender.

  • All shoes must be sorted in one bag, all toys in one bag, and all baby items in one bag to make it possible for us to put your items on the sales floor.

  • Please bring your items in trash bags or cardboard boxes. We are unable to store or return plastic storage bins.

  • If your items are not rubber banded together or separated into bags, we will not be able to take them for you via Drop & Go. However, you are welcome to bring your items in as you normally would and put them on the sales floor.

Seller Drop-Off:

Sellers choose a time from their home page and will place their items on the sales floor. All areas are clearly marked and we have staff available to assist. Just like those who choose our Drop & Go service, we encourage the following:

  • All hanging items be rubber banded by size and gender. This keeps them from sliding around and makes check-in much faster!

  • All shoes must be sorted in one bag, all toys in one bag, and all baby items in one bag to make putting your items out smoother.
